First Response

At my first Dr.s appointment (concerning conception, or rather lack there of), the nurse got my history, vitals, and all of the normal stuff. The doctor briefly looked over my information and immediately diagnosed me with PCOS, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (basically-I don't ovulate). It took Dr. P two minutes to diagnose me, no blood work, screening panels, just assumption. Oh, before I left he did do an ultrasound, which showed that my ovaries did in fact look polycystic. He wrote several prescriptions, one for a prenatal vitamin, folic acid which helps reduce the chance of birth defects, and good ole Clomid(induces ovulation). And if memory serves right I was given sample packs of Actos, which was supposed to help us get pregnant. I know that isn't the "normal" purpose of that drug, BUT if it can help us get a baby then hand in on over! My cycle had started the day I went in for that visit, so I quickly got all scripts filled. I was supposed to take the Clomid on days 5-9 of my cycle. I was very doubtful that this was going to work. About mid cycle I remember being in horrid pain, I thought for sure that AF was coming. I waited impatiently until the earliest day that I could test. I bought that First Response test since the box said it could show positive up to 5 days sooner. To my surprise I had a BIG FAT POSITIVE!!! Okay Okay, it was a very faint positive. I called the docs office and the said to come in the next day to confirm the pregnancy. The next day they had me pee on their stick and did an ultrasound. The ultrasound showed a ring of pregnancy in my uterus. And as I was leaving the Dr. was standing at the nurses station looking at something and he ask me if I thought the test showed positive too. Yes, the thing he was looking at was my pregnancy test.......eeewwww. It did in fact have a very, very faint positive.
